THE body of a man in his 60s and a firearm have been found outside a North Yorkshire police station today 9Sunday, April 28).
The man’s body was found by an officer in the visitor’s car park at Harrogate Police Station at around 4.20pm.
A statement released by North Yorkshire Police said: "Officers are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the man’s death, however they do not believe that is was suspicious.
"Nobody else is being sought in connection with the incident."
The identity of the dead man is yet to be confirmed.
A firearm was recovered from the scene of the incident.
Harrogate Police station is currently closed to the public and people are asked to visit Craven Lodge, on Victoria Avenue, or call 101 if they would like to report a crime or speak to an officer.
