A public meeting for people in Burnhope to discuss concerns about crime with police is being held at Burnhope Primary School on Langley Avenue from 6.30pm-7.30pm on Tuesday.

The meeting will be attended by a representative from the neighbourhood policing team and will be specific to the area. Individual neighbourhood priorities will be discussed. All members of the community are welcome.

FIFTIES TUNES: A live show featuring rock and roll classics is coming to the Lamplights Arts Centre in Stanley on March 21 at 1.30pm and 7.30pm.

ART ATTACK: The Colour Your Life Open Art Studio runs at The Lodge in Blackhill and Consett Park every Wednesday from 10.30am-12.30pm and 1pm-3pm and is part of a service funded by NHS County Durham.

Workshops involve painting, drawing, sculpture, textiles, design, mosaics, printing mixed media, creative writing and more. No prior skills required.

YOUNG SWIMMERS: Little Bubbles is a swimming class for children aged up to five at Belle Vue Swim Centre in Consett with new toys and music to splash to.

It is held on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 12pm-1pm and costs £2.80 for parent and child.

GET ARTY: Lanchester Art Group meets every Thursday morning from 10 am till noon at Lanchester Community Centre and has a varied level of ability within the group including complete beginners to accomplished artists, who share each other's enthusiasm and commitment.

Artists are encouraged to extend their knowledge of and use of various mediums, including watercolour, oils, pastels, acrylics and calligraphy.

Three exhibitions of work are held each year; two small ones are held in June and December in Lanchester Library and are usually themed, and a large exhibition is held in Lanchester Community Centre on the third weekend in October.

GOLDEN AGE: A live show featuring hits from yesteryear is coming to the Empire Theatre in Consett on March 23 at 7.30pm.

Big Girls Don’t Cry includes classic hits from Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons such as Sherry, Bye Bye Baby and Oh, What a Night.
