The Leyland Band, conducted by Richard Evans, is to perform a concert in the Salvation Army Hall, in Sherburn Terrace, Consett on Saturday, November 17 at 7.30pm. The concert takes place on the eve of the Brass In Concert Championships, to be held at The Sage, Gateshead, where the Leyland Band will be defending the title they won in 2011. Admission is £8.
TRAFFIC LIGHTS: Two-way traffic lights will be installed on the A68 at Rowley Bank, near Castleside next week while work is carried out on the water supply to a new housing development. Work is due to start on Monday, November 12 and last for five days.
