ONE of the North-East’s leading estate agents has told would-be landlords that the buy-to-let market still offers outstanding returns on investment.

As co-directors of Robinsons Estate Agents, George Robinson and Simon Wright, have 75 years of experience behind them so they are well qualified to advise those thinking of investing in properties to let.

And their aim is to use that wealth of experience to simplify the process and reassure anyone interested in generating rental income.

“It’s clearly a very healthy rate of return,” says Mr Wright. “Landlords are generally looking for a ten per cent return on investment, compared to a two per cent interest rate from a building society, at best.

“The bottom line is that you can make your money work so much better for you than leaving it in a bank.”

Those thinking of taking the plunge into buy-to-let for the first time are sometimes intimidated about what’s involved, but Robinsons pride themselves on cutting through the jargon with straightforward guidance.

In fact, there’s a useful “Jargon Buster” section on Robinsons’ website, giving easy-to-understand explanations for a host of terms such as break clause, due diligence, and periodic tenancy.

Robinsons have well-established branches in Darlington, Middlesbrough, Stockton, Ingleby Barwick, Bishop Auckland, Crook, Spennymoor, Durham, Chester-le-Street, Hartlepool and Sedgefield, plus a new one in Coxhoe.

Managers at every branch have all gained qualifications with the Association of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA), so trusted advice is available across the North-East.

The business is also governed by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) so all transactions and working practices are strictly regulated, creating a solid foundation of trust and professionalism.

“As well as talking to new landlords, we are also keen to discuss our successful track record with existing landlords so we can help them too,” says Mr Wright.
The aim is to take the worries away by guiding landlords – new and old – through changes in legislation, whether it is gas safety certificates or tenant notices.

With the depth of knowledge and experience to offer an unrivalled, fully-managed service from start to finish, the message is…‘LET US HELP’.
