THE popular Scholars Park development, from Homes by Esh, has now entered its final stages and just seven of the 60 properties still remain for sale.

Scholars Park is located on Bourne Avenue, just minutes from the centre of Darlington, at the site of the former Eastbourne School.  The development features a mix of three- and four-bedroom properties and two-bedroom bungalows.

Deputy head teacher, Denise Murray, 56, and retired former engineer, Keith Murray, 66, are proud owners of a four-bedroom Shrewsbury at Scholars Park.  The property was purchased using the Homes by Esh part-exchange scheme to accelerate their move into a dream, new property.

Homebuyers interested in part exchange, and who reserve by October 7, require just a £250 reservation fee, and will receive all carpets and vinyl, integrated fridge/freezer and dishwasher, stamp duty paid, and £500 towards legal costs, as part of the Homes by Esh autumn deals.

Keith Murray comments: “Our former home in the West End of Darlington was built around the time of World War II and, while full of character, the financial implications of running an older home and keeping it in good order were just starting to bite.  As I’m now retired, I no longer wanted the worry of dealing with unforeseen repair or maintenance costs and so we started looking for a new build development that could offer everything we needed.

“Scholars Park is a very attractive development.  The stone exterior of the properties was particularly visually appealing and unique from our point of view.  The Shrewsbury most definitely ticked all of our boxes and I was impressed with the open-plan kitchen dining room, and the space it gave us to entertain and enjoy the larger garden in the summer time.”

Only one of the four-bedroom Shrewsbury properties now remains for sale at Scholars Park (priced from £244,995).  It offers a spacious kitchen dining room with bi-fold doors into the garden, along with four generous bedrooms, including a master bedroom with ensuite bathroom.  It’s the right mix of practicality and contemporary design and is currently available at Scholars Park in Darlington.

Denise continues: “We are very happy in our new home, and, thanks to all of the additional upgrades we were able to include, we have been able to personalise it in the way we wanted.  The Smeg appliances really round off the kitchen, and the extra touches make our property truly feel like our perfect home.”

As part of the Homes by Esh range of autumn offers, first-time buyers interested in using the help-to-buy scheme at Scholars Park only require a £99 reservation fee, and will receive all carpets, selected integrated appliances and £750 towards legal costs if they reserve by October 5.
