Northallerton Lodge

Northallerton Lodge is the former Lodge to Kiplin Hall and represents a stunning piece of architecture, both from its origins, as designed by William Eden Nesfield, and the additions by the present owners which have transformed this home into a visual delight that works well as a family home. William Eden Nesfield also designed a lodge in Regents Park,Kew Gardens and the Victoria Gates at Kew. The original lodge is a handsome building, originating from circa 1870, Constructed of coursed knapped cobbles and ashlar quoins and has many charming features which include chamfered

stone mullion windows and rooftop finials, details which have been encompassed in the theme of the extension which is built in a pavilion style as a contrast to the original building. The layout and design has many well thought out features of note including a large canopy around its perimeter providing a sheltered pathway which extends to a boardwalk running the full length of the living space overlooking the main lawn. A mixture of quality timbers have been used in the construction such as Oak to the main frontage which has silvered, and Douglas Fir to the rear elevations.

The setting is unique, adjoining Kiplin Hall grounds which the owners have access to directly providing lovely walks from the front door.
