AN OLD prisoner camp-turned history museum has announced its online shop.

Eden Camp Modern History Theme Museum, in North Yorkshire, has announced the launch of its shop, which will offer the same items as the on-site store.

This gives customers and would-be visitors access to a wide range of Eden Camp goodies, WW2 replicas and the opportunity to buy advance admission tickets.

Originally a prisoner of war camp, Eden Camp was built by a small contingent of army personnel from Scotland, on top of an agricultural plot on the outskirts of Malton in early 1942.

Through collaboration with veteran groups, the site today highlights both social and military history.

Marking the opening of the online store, the museum has launched a Father’s Day Raffle for a chance to win Eden Camp prizes, which include the (blank) firing of the 3.7” AA gun, a ride in a 1943 Jeep, a family day ticket and more.

Eden Camp Director Paula Peace said: “Having just launched our online shop, we are hoping to increase traffic to our new website, whilst complementing our home activities with the addition of our products aimed at children.

"To be successful, you have to have your business in your heart, and your heart in your business; that is something we firmly believe at Eden Camp, and our online shop is just an extension of our family business.”

Head to the Eden Camp website to enter, with the competition closing on June 20 at midday.
