ONE of the North-East’s most iconic landmarks has been turned into a film set for the shooting of a new Hollywood blockbuster.
Movie crews are set up at Bamburgh Castle in Northumberland, and long drapes, which look suspiciously like Nazi banners, are hanging from the historic walls.
It is all for the fifth instalment of Indiana Jones franchise and megastar Harrison Ford has been spotted in the region.
This picture, which appears to show the 78-year-old chatting with the team, has been widely shared on Twitter.
People are also sharing pictures of Ford who enjoying a bit of sightseeing as the region basks in the sunshine.
He stopped during his cycle ride at a café in North Shields this week and he also been spotted on Quayside in Newcastle.
Jaws dropped when the lycra-clad actor, also famous for playing Han Solo in the Star Wars films, surprised diners at The Ship's Cat fish restaurant on Union Road this week.
The owners of Khai Khai, an Indian restaurant in Newcastle, shared this happy snap of them with the star.
The film crew had also been shooting scenes along the North York Moors Railway but they are currently Bamburgh Castle which is closed until next Monday for the filming.
The popular visitor attraction now has barbed wire props on the surrounding walls and the crew is using a crane to lift equipment into position.
Disney has said Indiana Jones 5 should hit cinemas in July 2022, though a UK release date has not been confirmed.
