IF you want to know who are the world’s greatest “installation artists”, then look no further than the world’s bridge builders.

For they are not only marvels of engineering and science, but have also won a place in our hearts for their beauty and cultural significance – they truly are “works of art”.

Bridges such as London Tower Bridge and Sydney’s Harbour Bridge (built by our very own Cleveland Bridge) are world-famous landmarks, and significantly, most are considered to be a delight rather than an eyesore.

And you can’t say that about many public structures.
