FOUR members of Darlington Operatic Society will soon be starting their professional training at theatre schools throughout the UK.
Estelle Dennison-French has been accepted onto the BA Musical Theatre course at Mountview in London. Tori McDougall has gained a place at Leeds College of Music and Drama to study musical theatre. Cameron Wallace will be starting at York St John University on a BA Drama and Theatre course, and Kyra Batty has gained a place at Masters College in Essex to study Performing Arts.
Julian Cound, of Darlington OS said: “We are absolutely thrilled for Estelle, Tori, Cameron and Kyra. All four have been fantastic advocates of DarlingtonOS and it has been a pleasure working alongside them all, most recently in Top Hat. We wish them well in the next step on their career ladder.”
Mr Cound added: “We always have a number of members moving on to train professionally each year. DarlingtonOS is a great company in which to learn valuable performance skills, gain confidence and have the emotional support to use as a spring-board to move into training or go straight into the profession.”
DarlingtonOS has just completed a successful 10-night run of Top Hat and members are now in rehearsals for their next production, which is Jekyll & Hyde the Musical. The show will run from Wednesday October 23 to Saturday November 2 at Darlington Hippodrome.
