STAR of Mock the Week and I’m a Celebrity Shappi Khorsandi is on the road with her new sensational show Mistress & Misfit - and she’s stopping off in Stockton.

Khorsandi has established herself as one of the country’s leading comedians. Her unapologetic, sharp-wit has not gone unnoticed – scoring her countless spots on TV shows such as 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Have I Got News for You, QI and Live at the Apollo.

Mistress & Misfit presents England’s unsung heroine, Emma Hamilton. For too many years she’s been known as just ‘Nelson’s mistress’ and a bit of a harlot. You get ONE job in a brothel and bang goes your reputation! Women’s lib wasn’t really a ‘thing’ in Georgian times but Emma moved mountains to haul herself from ‘scullery maid’ to ‘Lady Hamilton’.

And yes, she occasionally danced on tables naked to get ahead in life, but who hasn’t? As a fellow naked dancer on tables Shappi is inspired by Emma, although she never wants hair big enough to house mice in.

Expect whip-crack jokes as she effortlessly handles every subject with razor-sharp wit, softened only by her deliciously mischievous delivery and endless charm.

Graham Ramsay, of promoters Ten Feet Tall, who co-promote the show in association with ARC, said: “We’re very excited about having Shappi back in Teesside. While most other comedians are talking about Brexit and Trump – Shappi, very cleverly, brings something totally different to the table, or should I stay the stage!”
