TICKETS have gone on sale for the annual North-East visit by Disney On Ice which promises the most memorable retelling of the famous screen tales alongside favourite characters.

The company’s Passport to Adventure show tour is heading to the MetroRadio Arena, Newcastle, for ten performances in the week of October 3 to 8.

Audiences can explore the African Pride Lands with Simba, Timon and Pumbaa, voyage deep under the sea to Ariel’s mystical underwater kingdom and tour London with Peter Pan and Wendy before flying to Neverland to meet up with Tinker Bell.

The skaters will also whisk onlookers away to Arendelle for an extraordinary adventure with sisters Anna and Elsa, rugged mountain man Kristoff and the huggable snowman Olaf, as they journey to discover that true love is the most magical power of all.

This year, there’s the chance to warm up at the Fit to Dance pre-show featuring Zootropolis.

The popular ice dance tour, produced by Feld Entertainment, features an international team of award-winning figure skaters, high-energy choreography and a colourful set that captures all four unique worlds. Upbeat music, lovable characters and unforgettable moments make this an experience families will cherish forever.

Ailsa Oliver, the Arena’s general manager, says: “Disney On Ice is always warmly welcomed by our audiences, each show bringing the magic of Disney to the heart of the region; it’s constantly a joy to see audience reaction to this extremely popular ice spectacular. This production travels to four timeless worlds in one fun-filled ice production, and there really is something for everyone - from Disney’s The Lion King to The Little Mermaid and Peter Pan, plus the global phenomenon that is Disney’s Frozen. We’ve already experienced very busy pre-sales from priority customers, and are expecting demand to be extremely high when we launch the general on sale period. We’re looking forward to another successful season and encourage customers to get tickets sooner rather than later for best choice of seats”

The show’s director is Jerry Bilik, who has been a creative team member for 30 Disney On Ice shows and has arranged music for a number of television series, including Starsky and Hutch and Charlie’s Angels and was music coordinator for The 31st Annual Emmy Awards.

Patty Vincent, who directs the show’s Frozen section, has featured in Disney On Ice presents Frozen, Magical Ice Festival and Dare to Dream. She began her career at Feld Entertainment as a skater 31 years ago and has advanced in the company to become the creative director for all touring Disney On Ice productions.
