A NORTH-EAST employment law firm has launched a new training division.
Collingwood Legal has set up its new arm after increasing client demand, and will offer specialist training to human resources and management staff on subjects including equality and diversity, restructuring, grievances and disciplinary issues.
The Newcastle-based company's team includes solicitors Liane Atkin and Sarah Fitzpatrick, who have significant experience in employment law training sessions, and the new division will offer one-off training days or a series of interactive events.
Paul McGowan, founder and principal lawyer, said: “Taking pro-active action to ensure they’re fully up to speed on the latest workplace issues, and therefore significantly reduce the risks of disputes arising is an increasingly important duty for company managers and their teams.
“Diversifying in this way wasn’t part of the original plan when Collingwood was established, and our core business very much remains in dealing with employment disputes and employment tribunal claims.
"But offering this service gives us the chance to add even more value to our clients’ operations.”
