A MAILING house has moved to a new facility in the North- East, securing 250 jobs and paving the way for more in the future.
MetroMail has invested £10m in the move to the Foxcover Enterprise Park, in Seaham, County Durham.
The firm, part of the Acromas group of companies, which includes the SAGA Group and he AA, is one of the UK’s largest mailing houses, dispatching up to 270 million items each year It has been operating in the region for more than 20 years, but had outgrown its leased premises at Whitehouse Park, in Peterlee.
Serious consideration was given to a move away from the North-East, but managing director Alan Purvis persuaded the firm to stay and invest in the enlarged facility, paving the way for expansion and job creation in future.
