A TEESSIDE transport company has taken on staff in response to a growing demand for its services.

Billingham-based Nicholson’s Transport has employed two drivers and created two positions in its warehouse and transport office, taking the total workforce to 26.

The firm has experienced an upturn in business which is expected to result in its freight quantities increasing by ten per cent over the year.

Kris Marsay, managing director, said: “We have been able to recruit due to additional work. We ran a tight ship during the recession and it paid off because we are now seeing more work coming in.”

Nicholson’s now offers a hazardous parcel delivery and drop-in services for people transporting goods sold through internet auction sites.
