DIGITAL company Orange Bus has increased turnover by more than 300 per cent in the past year, and is on track for further strong growth.

The Newcastle firm has created three jobs in the past three months and has won four projects in the past four weeks, beating international competition to win work in the famous London Koko live music venue.

Orange Bus, which counts snowboarding brand O’Neill and Ringtons Tea among its clients, believes it is set to see further progress as increasing numbers of businesses across the UK strive to increase their e-presence.

Director and co-founder, Julian Leighton, said: “A lot of businesses are intelligently capitalising on the fact that many of their competitors are hiding away – which is exactly the time to market harder and create a strong online presence.

“For too long the North- East’s web design industry has been in the shadow of the south – we have a pool of hugely talented creative minds in this region and we are starting to see the rewards.”

Orange Bus has recently relocated from premises in Jesmond to a 1,500sq ft windmill in Newcastle’s Claremont Road, which has previously been home to the Clothes Show.
