BUILDERS on sites in North Yorkshire are returning to work today.

Harron Homes says its site teams will be re-starting work on houses under construction. All of its developments were closed throughout April.

Lee Howard, health and safety manager at Harron Homes said: “We’ve conducted a thorough risk assessment at each site, and are strictly following industry guidance as well as construction leadership council and government guidance to focus on the welfare of our employees.

"Our teams have all undergone inductions to make sure they understand and can best action the measures put into place.”

A company spokesperson said the company had been working hard to update its operations and preparing to implement a number of safety measures including enhanced PPE requirements, good hygiene practices and appropriate distancing.

These measures mean site teams can continue work on houses under construction, although tradespeople are currently unable to enter occupied properties to ensure the wellbeing of all parties.

Noel Adams, managing director of Harron Homes Yorkshire said “We are very pleased to be able to resume work on our developments, and look forward to completing homes we know customers have been eager to move into."
