IF YOU thought you couldn’t get your white goods cheaper than from the Hotpoint Factory Outlet in Gateshead – then think again. The store is having a Halloween sale, so prices are lower than ever!

Hotpoint is the UK’s largest white goods appliance manufacturer and as such produces an extensive range of washing machines, dryers, cookers, dishwashers, fridges, freezers and small domestic appliances.

Wherever you are on the planet, there’s no getting away from the need to reduce, recycle and reuse. All manufacturers have a responsibility to manage returned products, an aspect of the business Hotpoint takes very seriously.

To do this, the company has set up a Rework Centre at its headquarters in Peterborough, where items that may have incurred minor damage or are faulty are returned for repair.

More than 1,000 engineers are employed by the Rework Centre to inspect, assess, rework and retest the returned products to ensure they are of the highest possible standard before they are sent to its three factory outlets – Gateshead being one of them – to be sold as graded appliances with a full manufacturer’s warranty.

This process means customers have the opportunity to purchase high-quality, graded products from a recognised ‘blue chip’ supplier, where:

• All parts used are genuine manufacturer’s parts;

• Appliances have been reworked by trained Hotpoint engineers;

• All graded appliances are covered by a one-year service and a ten-year parts manufacturer’s warranty.

As well as the usual large white goods, the Gateshead Hotpoint Factory Outlet store also stocks a range of Hotpoint’s small domestic appliances such as kettles, toasters, mixers, blenders etc. All appliances are fully functional and safety tested.

In many cases, the items have been returned only because the box has been damaged, while others may be obsolete or end of line stock which is sold in its original packaging with the standard manufacturer’s warranty.

Lastly, there may be some items which have been returned damaged and have been recovered to a standard slightly less than pristine.

Many of the products on sale have never been delivered to a customer, or in some cases have not even left the factories; some may have failed in the first few days of use. Minor blemishes are generally limited to the sides or rear of the appliance.

The store offers a local delivery service and will happily dispose of your old white goods or appliance if you take it in when you purchase another.
