Catering for all sorts of tastes and requirements, the Inn offers daily, tasty, home-cooked food in the restaurant, using wholesome, traditional, fresh ingredients. Whether you’re popping in for a quick, light lunch, or want to enjoy an evening with a lavish, three-course meal, the selection will cater for all tastes.
The menu changes weekly, and you can choose from scrumptious dishes such as the five-hour braised beef feather blade, wrapped in puff pastry, with roasted potatoes, vegetables and gravy; or Thai salmon fishcake, with wilted spinach and a runny poached egg. There’s also a great selection of hearty classics such as beef lasagne, steak and ale pudding, and beautifully crisp fish and chips.
Vegetarian options are equally tempting - so nobody needs to miss out - with dishes such as chargrilled cauliflower steak, cheesy sauce, sautéed kale and chunky chips.
If you want to indulge the meat-connoisseur within, try The Village Inn’s steak night, where a succulent 10oz rump steak with chunky chips, and a choice of sauces, is priced at only £12 per person.
Sunday lunch is a popular with village residents and visitors alike, with two courses from the A la carte menu at a reasonable £14, and three courses for £16.
Children are very welcome, with their own menu and half-portions on Sunday, so why not treat the family?
Of course, you may just fancy a quiet drink in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, with a well-stocked bar and where the cheery staff make sure everyone feels at home.
The Village Inn is also great for celebrations and events, with the restaurant able to accommodate around 60 people, while the function room can cater for parties of up to 90. Perfect for special occasions like birthdays and weddings, and the quant village of Brompton offers lots of memorable photographic opportunities.
A large, private car park means that vehicles can be left safely while you relax, and 11 en-suite rooms means that guests can enjoy the party and not worry about travelling until the next day.
