A TECHNOLOGY company has announced its new interim chair.

Deborah McGargle is the new chair of Evince Technology's board of directors following the death of previous chair, John Urwin.

Mr Urwin joined the Evince board in October 2016 with a 30-year track record of success in the global semiconductor industry. He very quickly became a fervent and passionate supporter of the company’s technology and its potential for revolutionising 21st century electronics.

One of his final recommendations was to suggest that Ms McGargle, who has been Evince’s external legal counsel for several years, could take on the role of acting chair while the company worked on finding a long-term replacement.

A spokesperson for the company said: "Deborah is well known within the European and US East Coast technology sector for her legal, business development and fundraising expertise.

"She will bring a welcome broadening of skills and board-level experience into Evince.

"Deborah is chief legal officer and part of the founding team of SeedLegals, prior to this she spent years within the electrical distribution and manufacturing sector working for Rolls Royce and Siemens."
