THE march of the hugely successful Icestone Gelato franchise continues with the opening of a new dessert parlour in the North-East.
Franchisee husband and wife team, Adil and Saira Malik, have served a steady flow of enthusiastic customers since they launched in Durham City earlier this year.
Gelato is the Italian version of ice-cream, but made with 20 per cent less fat and just as delicious. You really will be spoiled for choice with so many flavours to choose from.
Icestone Gelato is not just about frozen desserts - the extensive menu includes lots of delicious treats such as crepes, frozen yoghurt, hot cookie dough, Belgian waffles, sundaes and fudge brownies - with everything made to their own secret recipes.
Gluten intolerant customers will find plenty to choose from on the menu, and there’s a good selection of hot and cold drinks.
Dare you try their freakshakes – the ultimate milkshake? With tempting flavours like bubblegum, Kinder Beuno, Ferrero Rocher, and salted caramel, they’re enough to satisfy the sweetest tooth.
Spoil yourself with a Strawberry & Butterscotch waffle, or push the boat out with a Chocolate Fondue with mini doughnuts, chocolate brownies or marshmallows for the really indulgent.
They haven’t forgotten the old favourites either. Back to School puddings include nostalgic delights such as cornflake tart, jam roly poly, and, of course, everyone’s favourite – apple crumble and custard.
You can even create your own signature sundae with three scoops of gelato of your choice, two topping, two sauces, fresh cream and finished with a wafer - the ultimate sweet treat!
Icestone Gelato uses the freshest ingredients to offer an extensive range of exclusive signature and luxurious items, and are frequently introducing new flavours and products to add to the (already difficult) choice.
The Yorkshire-based business first opened its doors in Bradford in 2013 and was a delicious success – quickly expanding around the county, and into the North-East.
You can sit in at the Durham parlour - which can seat 60 people over two floors; take out to enjoy at home; order over the phone to pick up; or have it delivered through Deliveroo.
