A RESTORATION firm has seen the busiest start to the year since it was established two decades ago.

STS Restoration, part of the Stone Technical Services group, has secured around two million pounds worth of work around the country.

The company has recently started work on a three-year project to restore all 64 historic chimneys at the Royal Courts of Justice. STS has worked at the site for many years on a range of projects, but this is their most significant to date.

They have also secured a contract with Gateshead Council and Historic England to carry out restoration and conservation works at Crowley Dam in Winlaton, near Gateshead.

As part of the archaeological and ecological project, STS has to meet strict guidelines to preserve and protect wildlife in the area.

Managing director Dave Stone, said: “We provide very specialist services for a range of organisations. Our team is widely respected as historic conservationists and stonemasons around the UK and, in addition, we offer a full service from general maintenance to restoration and lightning protection.

"It’s great to see STS Restoration growing."
