AN ULTRAFAST internet connectivity provider has launched an all-new superfast network to help overcome "broadband woes" in Teesside.

The majority of homes and businesses in the area are served by legacy networks. The new network uses fibre and wireless technology to deliver reliable superfast broadband packages.

ITS Technology Group (ITS) has carried out the upgrade and results are already being seen at Redcar's Wilton Centre.

Steve Duffield, site director at the Wilton Centre, said: “ITS has been our connectivity and IT services provider for 15 years, so we have a lot of faith in their technical abilities.

"We saw a great opportunity to deepen our partnership by working together to develop this new network and have provided the site for the equipment.”

Ben Houchen, Mayor of the Tees Valley, said: “Fast, reliable broadband is no longer regarded as something you can live without. People choose to buy a house based on how good the internet connection is, and businesses are choosing whether or not to invest in the Tees Valley based on connectivity.

“If we are going to support our innovators, job creators, entrepreneurs and risk-takers then we need to make sure they have access to high speed, reliable internet connections no matter where they are in the Tees Valley."
