What was your first job and how much did you get paid?

I was an apprentice toolmaker, earning £90 per week.

Worst job you’ve had?

I’ve only ever had two roles, so would have to be toolmaker.

What would you cook for me if I came around for dinner?

A nice fillet steak.

What would your superpower be?

To fly.

Name four people, dead or alive, who would be at your perfect dinner party?

If I’m being honest, the celebrity scene isn’t really for me. I’d much prefer a dinner party with my closest friends and family.

Most expensive thing you’ve bought – other than car or house – and how much?

A suit or watch costing about £500. I’m not really that extravagant.

Who is the best person to follow on Twitter?

I don’t have a personal Twitter account, so I’d have to go with @0800RepairGas, our company’s account.

Favourite book?

Probably a business mentoring book or something similar. I’m not really into books because I get easily distracted.

When did you last cry?

The other week when I went to see Collateral Beauty. Most heart-breaking film I have ever seen.

What is your greatest achievement?

Building up 0800 Repair Gas into what it is today, having started the firm from scratch.

What’s the best piece of advice in business you’ve ever been given?

Get your service right and assemble a strong team around you, then positivity and success will follow.

Favourite animal?

A dog because they are friendly and always happy to see you.

Most famous person on your mobile phone?

Nev from the Call Centre programme.

What was the last band you saw live?

Blistered Molly.

Describe your perfect night in?

Nice food, wine and loads of friends over.

In another life I would be...

Another kind of engineer to the heating trade. But, with their wage, a professional footballer.

Who would play you in a film of your life?

This is a tough one. Probably Brad Pitt – we have a similar hairstyle.

What irritates you?

Bad customer service and bullying in the workplace.
