The TTE Technical Training Group has signed an agreement to acquire Infinite Learning & Development (ILD).

The move to acquire ILD will help to strengthen Middlesbrough-based TTE’s position in the technical training industry and the combined portfolio provides attractive growth and geographical reach opportunities for both businesses through new products and services.

Peterlee-based ILD was founded in 2010, employs eight staff and has an annual turnover of approx. £500,000. The company specialises in Fabrication & Welding, Business Improvement Techniques and Simulated Working Environments to businesses across the UK including Caterpillar, Asda and Warburton's.

As one of the UK’s largest technical training organisations and a major provider of apprenticeship programmes in the Tees Valley, TTE has established a strong reputation for the delivery of quality, industry-based vocational training programmes.

Commenting on the acquisition, TTE Managing Director, Steve Grant said: “Today we take another major step forward in delivering our strategy and we are thrilled to welcome ILD into the TTE family.

“The acquisition of ILD supports our vision to be the instinctive first choice for business and people transformation by delivering training that improves industry’s performance and enhances lives.

“This is a very positive and exciting acquisition for our employees, customers and everyone involved.”

TTE was advised in the acquisition of ILD by Baldwins Accountants, a CogitalGroup company, led by Corporate Finance Director David Fish with legal advice from Endeavour Partnership led by Senior Associate Martin McKinnell.

David Fish, Corporate Finance Director at Baldwins, said: “This acquisition strengthens TTE’s offering to UK and international industry, while also increasing its geographic footprint in the North East. There are strong synergies between the two organisations that will benefit existing and new customers, here in the North East and further afield, which will be able to tap into a more comprehensive range of technical training services from TTE.”

Martin McKinnell, Senior Associate at Endeavour Partnership, said: “It was a pleasure to work with the team at TTE on this acquisition, which sees them further strengthen their offering for the benefit of both its existing and prospective customers. These are exciting times for TTE as it looks to further build on its already exceptional reputation.”
