MORE than ten jobs have been saved after a Darlington low-load haulier was bought out of administration.
Transcar Trading Limited has been sold to Transcar Logistics Limited, a wholly-owned operation managed by a Transcar Trading director and shareholder.
Officials say the deal has saved 12 jobs.
Transcar Trading focused on collecting and delivering motor vehicles nationwide, with its clientele including Bristol Street Motors and Lookers.
However, administrators Kelly Burton and Lisa Hogg from Wilson Field were appointed last month after cash flow pressures affected the firm, which traded from Darlington’s Lingfield House and Macklin Avenue, in Billingham, near Stockton.
Ms Burton, director and insolvency practitioner at Wilson Field, said: “As a result of the pre-packaged sale of the company's business and assets, 12 of the company's 18 employees were transferred under TUPE, minimising preferential claims in wage arrears and accrued holiday pay.”
