(B1278 & C38 SALTERS LANE, SEDGEFIELD) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2018

(B1278 & C38 SALTERS LANE, SEDGEFIELD) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2018

The Council on 06/07/18 made an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, to close to all vehicular traffic: (1) A 150 metre length of C38 between the Salters Lane Industrial Estate Roundabout and the junction with the B1278 Salters Roundabout; (2) (a) A 430 metre length of B1278 that extends north easterly from its junction with Old Durham Road to the junction with the access road to the Car Park adjacent to Winterton Cottages and the access to Howle Hope; and (b) A 75 metre length of Winterton Avenue that extends northwards from its junction with B1278 Salter Lane Roundabout, by reason of carriageway resurfacing works to be undertaken. The maximum duration of the temporary closure under the Order is 18 months and is required from nightly between 7.00 pm and 6.30 am from Wednesday 11/07/18 and for the duration of the works anticipated to be 10 nights. However, on rare occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly. Alternative route: from the southern side of the closure from C38 southwards on Durham Road then south westwards along Station Road to A689 Sands Hall Roundabout then north on A177 (to the junction with B1278 Salter Lane - Phase 1, and vice versa) to the junction with C26 and eastwards to Fishburn Crossroads then south on B1278 to the northern side of the closure, and vice versa. Access to Winterton Avenue area will be from A177 onto B1278 then immediately north on Old Durham Road to Wellgarth Mews and Winterton Avenue, and vice versa.

(SEDGEFIELD STATION & SANDYBANK LAY-BYS, SEDGEFIELD) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2018

The Council on 29/06/18 made an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, to close to all vehicular traffic a 965 metre length of Sedgefield Station Lay-by and a 220 metre length of Sandybank lay-by, off A689 west of Sedgefield by reason of new water mains works to be undertaken. The maximum duration of the temporary closure under the Order is 18 months and is required from 09/07/18 for the duration of the works anticipated to be 7 weeks. However, on rare occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly. An alternative route will not be signed to vehicular traffic, but access will be maintained to the properties at Sedgefield Station by phasing the works to allow access from one end of the lay-by or the other.

(C38 STOCKTON ROAD, SEDGEFIELD) (30 MPH & DE-RESTRICTION SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2018

The Council on 28/06/18 made an Order under Sections 81, 82, 83 & 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, ("RTRA"), the effect of which comes into operation on 09/07/18 and introduces on the C38 Stockton Road, Sedgefield (1) a de-restricted speed limit from a point 76 mtrs south east of its junction with Unc Thurlow Rd in a south easterly direction to its junction with the A689; and (2) a 30mph speed limit from its junction with Beacon Lane in a south easterly direction to a point 76 mtrs south east of its junction with Unc Thurlow Rd. Full details are contained in the sealed Order which may be inspected at Sedgefield library and County Hall, Durham during normal opening hours and via the council website. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the "RTRA", or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made under it has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the date of this notice, apply to make an application for that purpose to the High Court.

(FARRIER CLOSE, SEDGEFIELD) (20 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2017

The Council on 28/6/18 made the above Order under Sections 84 & 87 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act

1984 as amended. Effective from 20/07/18 this Order

introduces a 20mph speed limit on the full length of Farrier Close, Sedgefield from its junction with Saddler Drive in a north easterly then south easterly direction. Full details can be examined at Sedgefield library & County Hall, Durham during normal opening hours or via the Council website. If you believe this Order is invalid because it does not comply with the legal requirements, you can apply to the

High Court by 17/08/18.

(ROADS C37 AND C38 SEDGEFIELD

AND MORDON AREAS) (7.5 TONNES OPERATING WEIGHT

RESTRICTION) ORDER 1983 (AMENDMENT NO. 1) ORDER 2017

The Council on 28/06/18 made the above Order under Sections 1, 2 & 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act

1984 as amended. Effective from 20/07/18 this Order

will introduce a 7.5T weight limit on Saddler Drive from its junction with the A689 / A177 Stockton Rd roundabout in a north westerly then easterly direction to its junction with C38 Stockton Rd. Full details can be examined at Sedgefield library & County Hall, Durham during normal opening hours or via the Council website.
