(VARIOUS STREETS – SOUTH PELAW AREA) (20 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2018
The Council proposes to make an Order under Sections
84 & 87 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the
effect of which is to introduce a 20mph speed limit on
various streets (including all side streets and back lanes)
in the South Pelaw area; being: (A) Entire lengths of:
Aged Miners Homes, Ashleigh, Beechwoods, Briarhill,
Cedars, Cherrytree Rd, Conyers Gdns, Conyers Pl,
Conyers Rd, Firtrees, Glen Barr, Glencoe Ave, Glenroy
Gdns, Hazel Gro, Hollycrest, Laurel Ct, Lilac Gro,
Maplewood, Myrtles, Oaklea, Pelaw Ave, Pelaw
Cres, Pelaw Pl, Pelaw Rd, Rosewood Gdns, South St,
Sycamore, The Close East, Willowvale; and (B) Part
lengths of: Conyers Ave: From 6 mtrs north east of its
junction with C183 Pelton Lane, north easterly for its
entire length; Elmway: 6 mts south west of its junction
with C183 Pelton Lane south westerly for its entire
length’ Glenavon Ave: from 6 mts south west of its
junction with C183 Pelton Lane south westerly for its
entire length; Glenmore Ave: from 9 mts south west of
its junction with C183 Pelton Lane south westerly for
its entire length; Hilda Park: from 10 mts south west of
its junction with C183 Pelton Lane south westerly for
its entire length; Hilda Terr (eastern junction) from 6
mtrs south west of its junction with C183 Pelton Lane
south westerly for its entire length’ Hilda Terr (western
junction) from 7 mts south west of its junction with
C183 Pelton Lane south westerly then south easterly for
its entire length’ Pelaw Cres: from 6 mts north east of
its junction with C183 Pelton Lane north easterly for its
entire length: Pelaw Sq: from 10 mts north east of its
junction with C183 Pelton Lane north easterly for its
entire length; and The Close from 9 mts north east of
its junction with C183 Pelton Lane north easterly for its
entire length. A copy of the draft Order and supporting
information may be inspected at Chester-le-Street
Library and at County Hall, Durham during normal
opening hours and via the council website. Any person
who wishes to object to the proposed Order should
send their grounds of objection in writing to Loraine
Holding, Legal Assistant at County Hall, Durham or by
email to highways.orders@durham.gov.uk (ref 118520)
by 19/07/18.
(NEVILLE SQUARE, NEVILLES CROSS,
DURHAM)
(TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE)
ORDER 2018
The Council proposes in not less than 7 days from the
date of this notice to make an Order under Section
14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as
amended, to close to all pedestrian traffic a 65mtr
length of segregated footpath linking between Neville
Square and Lowes Barn Bank, Nevilles Cross by
reason of electricity cable installation and jointing
works to be undertaken. The maximum duration of the
temporary closure under the Order is 6 months and is
required from 16/07/18 for the duration of the works
anticipated to be 2 weeks. However, on rare occasions,
alternative dates for closure may be necessary and
these will be signed accordingly. Alternative route:
via the northern side of the closure from Lowes Barn
Bank, easterly to The Duke of Wellington PH then
southerly along the footway of Douglas Crescent
and westerly and northerly to Neville Square to the
southern side of the closure and vice versa
