CHESTER-LE-STREET) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2017
The Council on 12/10/17 made an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, to close to all vehicular traffic a 650m length of Drum Road that extends northwards and eastwards from Second Avenue to Drum Road Railway Bridge west of the Pelaw Grange Greyhound Stadium, Chester-le-Street to enable planing and surfacing operations to be undertaken. The maximum duration of the temporary closure under the Order is 18 months and is required from 24/10/17 and for the duration of the works, anticipated to be 8 nights between 6pm and 6am. However, on rare occasions, alternative dates for closures may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly. Alternative route: from the north eastern side of the closure from A167 Durham Road, Birtley westerly via Station Lane then southerly though Ouston and Perkinsville and easterly on A693 to Drum Industrial Estate/A167 Northlands Roundabout to the south western side of the closure, and vice versa. A local, non-HGV route will be available from the eastern side of the closure via A167southerlyto Northlands Roundabout then westerly on A693 to Drum Industrial Estate to the western side of the closure, and vice versa.
(RELLY PATH, NEVILLE'S CROSS, DURHAM CITY) (20 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2017
The Councilon12/10/17 madean Orderunder Sections 84 & 87 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, ("RTRA"), the effect of which comes into operation on 23/10/17 and introduces a 20mph speed Limit on the full length of Relly Peth from its junction with the A690 Neville's Cross Bank in a north westerly direction. Full details are contained in the sealed Order which may be viewed at Durham Clayport library and County Hall, Durham during normal opening hours and via the council website. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the "RTRA", or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made under it has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the date of this notice, apply to make an application for that purpose to the High Court.
