(DRUM ROAD, DRUM INDUSTRIAL ESTATE, CHESTER-LE-STREET) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2017
The Council proposes in not less than 7 days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, to close to all vehicular traffic a 650m length of Drum Road that extends northwards and eastwards from Second Avenue to Drum Road Railway Bridge west of the Pelaw Grange Greyhound Stadium, Chester-le-Street by reason of planing and surfacing operations to be undertaken. The maximum duration of the temporary closure under the Order is 18 months and is required from 24/10/17 between 6pm and 6am for the duration of the works anticipated to be 8 nights. Alternative route: from the north eastern side of the closure from A167 Durham Road, Birtley westerly via Station Lane then southerly though Ouston and Perkinsville and easterly on A693 to Drum Industrial Estate/A167 Northlands Roundabout to the south western side of the closure, and vice versa. A local, non-HGV route will be available from the eastern side of the closure via A167 southerly to Northlands Roundabout then westerly on A693 to Drum Industrial Estate to the western side of the closure, and vice versa.

The Council on 28/09/17 made the following 2 Orders under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended:

(NORTH BAILEY, DURHAM CITY) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2017
Theeffect willbe toclosetoallvehiculartraffica 190mlengthofNorthBaileythatextends southwards from its junction with Owengate/Saddler Street to and including its junction with Bow Lane, Durham to enable essential gas main replacement works to be undertaken. The maximum durationofthe temporary closure under the Order is 18 months and is required from09/10/17 (between 9am - 3pm) and for the duration of the works, anticipated to be 4 weeks. Alternative route: There is no alternative route available.

(REDHILLS LANE, DURHAM) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2017

Theeffect willbe toclosetoallvehiculartraffica 410mlengthofRedhills Lane betweenits junctions with the access to the Redhills Durham Miners Hall and the junction between no.5 Grays Terraceandno.40Redhills Lanetoenablestreet lighting works tobeundertaken. Themaximum durationofthe temporary closure under the Order is 18 months and is required from09/10/17 between9:30amand3:30pmeachdayandforthedurationofthe works, anticipatedtobe3 weeks. Alternative route: from the eastern side of the closure from Sutton Street northerly on North Road to A691 and County Hall Roundabout then generally north westerly on A691 Southfield Way toA167SniperleyRoundaboutturningsouthwards onA167tothejunctionwithRedhills Laneto the western side of the closure.
However, on rare occasions, alternative dates for the above 3 closures may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
