(VARIOUS SPEED LIMITS AND DERESTRICTED ROADS) (VARIOUS ROADS, DISTRICT OF RICHMONDSHIRE) ORDER 2017

NORTH YORKSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(VARIOUS SPEED LIMITS AND DERESTRICTED ROADS) (VARIOUS ROADS, DISTRICT OF RICHMONDSHIRE) ORDER 2017

NOTICE is hereby given that North Yorkshire County Council proposes to make an Order under Section 84(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit any motor vehicle from:

1. Travelling at a speed in excess of 20 miles per hour on any length of the following roads in Middleton Tyas in the District of Richmondshire:

a. C6 Middleton Tyas Lane and C46 School Bank from a point 33 metres west of the centre line of the junction of Smithgutter Lane with the C6, to a point 136 metres south of the centre line of the junction of the unclassified eastern spur of School Bank with the C46 (a total distance of 602 metres);



b. C46 Kneeton Lane from its junction with the C6 Middleton Tyas Lane, north westwards to a point 26 metres north of its junction with the centre line of the car part of Middleton Tyas Church of England Primary School (measured along the eastern kerb line);



c. Unclassified road known locally as "The Slough" from its junction with the C6 Middleton Tyas Lane in an easterly direction for a distance of 207 metres;



d. C6 The Gunnel for its entire length;



e. C6 Five Hills Lane from its junction with Kneeton Lane eastwards for a distance of 110 metres;



f. Unclassified eastern spur of School Bank from it's junction with the C46, School Bank, eastwards to a point immediatelyto the east of the boundary of the propertyknown as "Low Beck";



g. Unclassified road Smithgutter Lane from its junction with the C6, Middleton Tyas Lane, southwards for a total distance of 1230 metres;



h. Park View for its entire length;



i. Oakfields for its entire length;



j. Cumberland Gardens for its entire length; 2.Travelling at a speed in excess of 30 miles per hour on anylength of the following roads in the District of Richmondshire:

a. B6271 Station Road/Richmond Road, Brompton on Swale from a point 23 metres east of the eastern side of the deck of the A1(M) (measured along the northern kerb line), westwards to a point 244 metres east of its junction with the centre line of Parkgate Lane (measured along the northern kerb line);



b. B6272 Bridge Road, Brompton on Swale from a point 45 metres east of the eastern side of the deck of the A1(M) (measured along the southern kerb line) westwards to



its junction with the B6271 ;

c. C6 Middleton Tyas Lane, Middleton Tyas from a point 33 metres west of the centre line of the junction of Smithgutter Lane, to a point 54 metres west of the centre line of West Close;



d. C6 Five Hills Lane, Middleton Tyas from a point 110 metres east of its junction with Kneeton Lane, in an easterly direction for a distance of 123 metres;



e. C46 Kneeton Lane, Middleton Tyas from a point 26 metres north west of its junction with the centre line of the car park of Middleton Tyas Church of England PrimarySchool, north westwards for a distance of 133.5 metres (measured along the eastern kerb line);



f. C46 Moulton Lane, Middleton Tyas from a point 136 metres south of the centre line of the junction of the unclassified eastern spur of School Bank with the C46, to a point immediately to the north of its junction with the unclassified road which leads to



St Michael and All Angels Church;

g. Unclassified road Cow Lane, Middleton Tyas from a point immediately to the east of the boundary of the property known as "Low Beck", easterly for a distance of



403 metres;

3.Travelling at a speed in excess of 40 miles per hour on anylength of the following roads in the Brompton on Swale/Catterick Bridge Area in the District of Richmondshire:

a. B6271 Station Road from a point 23 metres east of the eastern side of the deck of the A1(M) (measured along the northern kerb line), eastwards to its junction with the A6055, GatherleyRoad;



b. B6272 Bridge Road from a point 45 metres east of the eastern side of the deck of the A1(M) (measured along the southern kerb line), eastwards to its junction with the A6055, Gatherley Road;



c. B6271 (Road to Scorton) from its junction with the A6055, Gatherley Road, for a distance of 297 metres in an easterlydirection (measured along the northern kerb line);



d. A6055 (towards Scotch Corner) from its junction with the A6055, Gatherley Road, westwards for a distance of 365 metres (measured along the centre line)



e. A6055 GatherleyRoad/Catterick Road from the northernmost termination point of Gatherley Road, southwestwards to a point 30 metres south west of its junction with the centre line of the vehicular access to 'Thornbrough Farm';



f. Leeming Lane from its junction with the A6055, south eastwards to a point 37 metres south east of its junction with the centre line of the southernmost vehicular access to the property known as 'Field House';



g. C6 Middleton Tyas Lane, Middleton Tyas from a point 68 metres north east of Scotch Corner roundabout for a distance of 543 metres in a north easterly direction;



h. Local Access Road towards Moulton, Middleton Tyas from its junction with Middleton Tyas Lane, southwards for a distance of 65 metres (measured along the centre line).



In addition, each length of the following roads south of Scotch Corner in the District of Richmondshire shall be a derestricted road:

1. A6108 from its junction with the roundabout at the junction with the A6055, south westwards for 50 metres (measured along the centre line);



2. A6055 so much of the same as is formed by the roundabout at its junction with



the A6108;

3. A6055 from its junction with the roundabout at the junction with the A6108, south eastwards for 70 metres (measured along the centre line);



4. A6055 from its junction with the roundabout at the junction with the A6108 northwards for 60 metres (measured along the centre line).



This Order will also revoke in its entirety "North Yorkshire County Council (30 mph and 40 mph Speed Limits) (Various Roads, Brompton-on-Swale/Catterick Bridge) Order 2000", "North Yorkshire CountyCouncil (40 mph Speed Limit) (Tunstall Road/Catterick Lane, Catterick Village) Order 2007", "North Yorkshire County Council (20 mph Speed Zones and 30 & 40 mph Speed Limits) (Various Roads, Middleton Tyas) Order 2011" and "North Yorkshire CountyCouncil (40 mph Speed Limit) (A6136 Catterick Road, Catterick Bridge) Order 2012".

A copy of the draft Order, together with a map showing the roads affected and a statement of the Council's reasons for proposing to make the Order maybe inspected at CountyHall, Northallerton and at Richmond Library during normal office hours from 17th March 2017 to 6th April 2017.
