(PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO. 5 DURHAM, OFF WILLOWTREE AVENUE, GILESGATE) (TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE) ORDER 2015
The above-named Order made by the Council on 17.09.15, under section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and which became operational on 21.09.15 has been continued in force from 21.03.16, as approved by the Secretary of State for Transport, until 21.09.16 or until the footpath issafetore-open, whicheveristheearlier. TheeffectoftheOrderistotemporarilyclosetoall pedestrian traffic a 210m length of Footpath No. 5 Durham Parish that extends from road C13 (off A690) and the rear fence line of Willowtree Avenue, Gilesgate. Alternative routes: available to pedestrian traffic from the northern side of the closure from C13 easterly via the associated footways and the crossing point southwards into High Grange Estate and westerly via the provided footpath from near to The Paddock at the rear of Willowtree Avenue linking to Footpath No. 5 to the southern side of the closure, and vice versa.
The Council proposes to make the following 2 Orders under Sections 1, 2, 4,32,35, 45,46, 46A, 47 & 49 and Part IV of Sch. 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended:
(DURHAM CITY (SOUTH WEST)) (PARKING AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2013 (AMENDMENT NO. 1) ORDER 2016
The effect of which will introduce a 14m Loading Only bay on the east side of Station Approach approx. 15m from its junction with North Road; and
(ON STREET PARKING PLACES - TARIFFS & PERMITS) ORDER 2014 (AMENDMENT NO. 1) ORDER 2016
The effect of which will alter the zone relating to the Permit Holders only parking on Grape Lane from Zone I to Zone GL (administrative change only).

The Council, on 10.03.15 made the following 4 Orders under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended:
(THE SANDS/ORCHARD DRIVE, DURHAM CITY) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2016
The effect will be to close to all vehicular traffic a 640m length of The Sands/Orchard Drive from its junction with Providence Row/Freemans Place to the turning circle at the end of Orchard Drive, Durham City by reason of carriageway resurfacing works to be undertaken. The maximum duration of the temporary closure under the Order is 18 months and is required from 9.30am on Tues 29.03.16 and for the duration of the works anticipated to be 10 days, between 9.30 & 3.30pm per day. There is no alternative route available.
(UNCLASSIFIED ROAD 19.15 WALLNOOK BRIDGE, WALLNOOK LANE, LANGLEY PARK) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2016
The effect will be to close to all vehicular traffic a 40m length of Wallnook Lane at Wallnook Bridge, Langley Park to enable works to a dangerous structure to be undertaken. The maximum duration of the temporary closure under the Order is 18 months and is required from 20.03.16 and for the duration of the works, anticipated to be 18 months. Alternative route: via C62 Front Street, Langley Park.
(FOOTPATH BETWEEN SHERBURN PARK & STANLEY STREET, CONSETT) (TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE) ORDER 2016
The effect will be to close to all vehicular traffic a 75m length of footpath between the turning circle adjacent to Belle Vue Swimming Baths / Ferndale Court and Stanley Street, Consett to enable asbestos removal and swimming baths demolition works to be undertaken. The maximum duration ofthe temporary closure under the Order is 18 months and is required from21.03.16 and for the duration of the works, anticipated to be 22 weeks. Alternative route: north eastern side of the closure from Ashdale Road, south easterly and turning southerly onto Oakdale Road then westerly along Park Avenue and northwards on the footpath to the rear of Stanley Gardens to StanleyStreettothesouth westernsideoftheclosure,andviceversa.
(THE WYND & WOOD ST, PELTON) (TEMPORARY ROAD AND FOOTWAY CLOSURE) ORDER 2016
The effect will be to close to all vehicular traffic a 125m length of The Wynd that extends southwardsfromitsjunctionwith VicarageClosetosouth ofthejunctionwith ElwinPlace, Pelton. The eastern footway of The Wynd described above and a 30m length of western footway opposite nos. 12-17 Wood Street, Pelton will also be closed to pedestrian traffic. These closures are necessary to enable sewer diversion works to be undertaken. The maximum duration of the temporaryclosureundertheOrderis18monthsandisrequiredfrom21.03.16andfortheduration of the works, anticipated to be 3 weeks for The Wynd and 2 weeks for Wood Street. Alternative route: vehicular traffic from the northern side of the closure from Front Street easterly toward Pelton Lane, southerly on Grange Street onto Elwin Place and the junction with The Wynd to the southern side of the closure, and vice versa. Opposing footways will be available during the footway closures.
However, on rare occasions, alternative dates for the above 4 closures may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
