ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 TOWN CENTRE TEMPORARY ORDER 2021

Darlington Borough Council intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under the provisions of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act,1984, as amended, the effect of which will be the following temporary restrictions and amendments to traffic order:
TO SUSPEND FROM THE DARLINGTON BOROUGH COUNCIL (ON STREET PARKING PLACES) CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2019: SCHEDULE 25.06 PAY AND DISPLAY PARKING PLACES - All days
Barnard Street, West side from a point 5 metres north of its junction with Duke Street to its junction with Duke Street North Back Duke Street, South side, from a point 13.5 metres east of its junction with Stanhope Road South to a point 8.5 metres west of its junction with Larchfield Street
Duke Street, South side, from a point 8 metres east of its junction with Larchfield Street to a point 27 metres west of its junction with Raby Terrace Winston Street, South side, from a point 3.5 metres east of its junction with Barnard Street to a point 7.5 metres west of its junction with Raby Terrace
TO INTRODUCE THE FOLLOWING RESTRICTIONS:
20 miles per hour Speed Limit
Barnard Street, for its entire length Barnard Street and Portland Place Back, for its entire length
Bondgate South Back, for its entire length
Duke Street, from its junction with Stanhope Road
North eastwards to its junction with Raby Terrace
Duke Street North Back, for its entire length
Eskdale Street, for its entire length
Eskdale Street and Napier Street Back, for its entire length
Eskdale Street North Back, for its entire length
Larchfield Street, from its junction with Portland Place to a point 32 metres south of its junction with Duke Street
Napier Street, for its entire length
Outram Court, for its entire length
Outram Street, for its entire length
Portland Place, from a point 25 metres south of its junction with Woodland Road to its junction with Larchfield Street
Portland Place East Back, for its entire length
Raby Terrace, from its junction with Duke Street to its junction with Salt Yard
Salt Yard, for its entire length
Stanhope Road North East Back, for its entire length
Winston Street, for its entire length
Woodland Road and Wycombe Street Back, for its entire length
Wycombe Street, for its entire length
Wycombe Street South Back, for its entire length
One Way
Duke Street, from its junction with Stanhope Road North eastwards to its junction with Raby Terrace
TEMPORARY PAY AND DISPLAY PARKING PLACE - All days 8am - 6pm (Maximum stay 2 hours, No charge, No return within 1 hour, ticket must be obtained and displayed prior to parking)
Duke Street, South side, from a point 13.5 metres to a point 52 metres east of its junction with Stanhope Road South
Duke Street, South side from a point 70 metres east of its junction with Stanhope Road South to a point 8.5 metres west of its junction with Larchfield Street
Duke Street, South side, from a point 25 metres east of its junction with Larchfield Street to a point 27 metres west of its junction with Raby Terrace
TEMPORARY DISABLED PARKING BAYS - All Days, at all times, max waiting - 3 hours, no return for 1 hour

PROHIBITION OF DRIVING
North side of the carriageway of Duke Street from the kerbline towards the centre for a distance of up to two metres as marked by barriers placed on the highway
The restrictions are necessary to enable the public to park and safely use the footways as works are proposed to be executed on or near Duke Street. The maximum duration of the temporary restrictions under this Order is 18 months commencing from 7th June 2021, it is anticipated that the restrictions will be effective for 2 months.
