THE HAMBLETON DISTRICT COUNCIL (OFF-STREET PARKING PLACES) (AMENDMENT) ORDER 2020
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hambleton District Council on the 11th February, 2021 made the Hambleton District Council (Off-Street Parking Places) (Amendment) Order 2020 ("Order") in exercise of its powers under Section 35 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004. The Order amends the Hambleton District Council (Off-Street Parking Places) Consolidation Order 2013 (as amended). The Order is to update the existing Order with the following changes to the operation of the Councils car parks. New plans referring to the car parks describe the parking place by means of red line around the boundary of the whole of the parking place. The designation of use of the parking bays in the parking place will be indicated by means of signage and surface marking. Introduction of a cashless payment system in the car parks.
Introduction of payment of a parking charge by means of cash, debit and credit card and smartphone or mobile device at the ticket machines within the car parks. Car park users are to evidence their use of a parking place by exhibiting a valid ticket, permit, season ticket or have a current parking session obtained via a cashless payment system. Provision for the extension of a parking period in the Northallerton Applegarth Short Stay Car Park, Northallerton Forum Short Stay Car Park, Thirsk Marage Car Park, Thirsk Millgate Car Park and Stokesley Showfield Car Park. The maximum extension of a paid parking period will be until the end of the prescribed hours for charging.
A vehicle may occupy more than one parking bay on payment of the appropriate charge due for each parking bay occupied. Provision for the introduction of disabled parking bays with a maximum parking period of three hours.
A disabled badge holder parked in a standard parking bay in a short stay car park whose parking period expires before the end of the charging period, can continue to occupy the parking bay for a period of up to one hour after the expiry time shown on their ticket. Provision for coach parking at Bedale Bridge Street Car Park within the designated area marked within the car park limited to 4 hours between the hours of 7am and 11 pm on all days and unlimited at other times. Introduction of electric vehicle charging point bays for electric vehicles to park and charge vehicle batteries
In all other respects The Hambleton District Council (Off-Street Parking Places) Consolidation Order 2013 (as amended) will remain in full force and effect.
A copy of the Order, Statement of Reason and a copy of the Hambleton District Council (Off-Street Parking Places) Consolidation Order 2013 (as amended), would usually be made available for inspection at the offices of Hambleton District Council until 3rd April, 2021.
