TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTION 14(1) THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY (PUBLIC FOOTPATH 160BUR) TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2020 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury intend in not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enahling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any members of the public from proceeding along:-

Public Footpath 160BUR - Springside View Farm Bridge/East Lancashire Railway Crossing
The reason for the proposed order is to enable bridge replacement works to be carried out.
The alternative route will be via Public Footpath 161BUR, Bridleway 155BUR, Springside Road, Public Footpath 157BUR, Public Footpath 158BUR, Public Footpath 153BUR and Burrs Country Park and vice versa.
The proposed Order will come into operation on Monday 23 March 2020 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 1 month although the anticipated duration of the works is S days. Dated 12 March 2020 Council Solicitor

Details of the proposals are in the draft Order (including the exemptions contained within it), a plan showing the roads and area affected and a statement of the Council's reasons for making the Order may be inspected at the reception desk at 3 Knowsley Place, Bury, BL9 0EJ during usual office hours, Monday to Friday. All representations whether in support or objecting to the proposals, together with the grounds on which they are made, must be made in writing and sent to the address above or by email to traffic(5)bury.gov.uk quoting reference TM2/20/467 by 03/04/20.

The reason for the proposed order is to focilitate carriageway resurfacing works. The proposed Order will come into operation on 23/03/20 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 12 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is approximately 4 weeks, to be implemented as & when required by the works.
