(PROW FOOTPATH NO.41. MAIDEN CASTLE. DURHAM CITY) (TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE) ORDER 2020
The Council on 5/3/2020 made the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to prohibit all pedestrian traffic from proceeding on a 120m length of PROW Footpath No.41 from a point adj to the rugby club in a southerly direction to Durham University Rowing Club to enable reconstruction, widening and the introduction of street lighting works to be undertaken. An alt route is available to pedestrian traffic from southern side of closure in a westerly direction along PROW Footpath 41 to A177, then north westerly along the associated footway of A177 to Whinney Hill Roundabout, then northerly along Whinney Hill to the junction with Green Lane, then south easterly on Green Lane and then PROW Footpath No.42 to the northern side of the closure and vice versa. The maximum duration of the Order is 6 months. The proposed works are to commence on 21/3/2020 and are anticipated to be completed in 6 weeks. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly. Access will be maintained for emergency services.
(FOOTPATH NO 189 STANLEY PARISH. BURNOPITELD) (TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE) ORDER 2020
The Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to prohibit all pedestrian traffic from proceeding on 300 m of Fp 189 Stanley Parish that extends southwards from Front St, Burnopfield to Fell Tee, A692 Crookgate Bank to enable electricity supply improvement works to be undertaken. Alternative route from the northern side of the closure from Front St A) West onto Footpath No 190 which leads south onto Footpath No 189 (during the northern section of path closure) B) East along Front St then south westerly on Crookgate Bank (during the southern section of path closure) to the southern side of the closure, and vice versa. The maximum duration of the Order is 6 months. The proposed works are to commence on 23/3/20 and are anticipated to be completed in 3 weeks. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
