ANNOUNCEMENT OF INTENTION NOT TO PREPARE AN ENVIRONMENTAL STATEMENT Regulation 5 of the Environmental Impact Assessment Land Drainage Improvement Works (Amended) Regulations 1999 S11999/1783 Church Lane flood screen works The Environment Agency gives notice that it proposes to carry out improvement works to the flood screen on Middle Beck at Church Lane, Ormesby, Middlesbrough, National Grid Reference NZ 52974 17378. The proposed improvement works will involve the following: Replacement of existing inlet debris screen (end screen) and installation of a new lateral screen to improve performance by; reducing flood risk and improving the health and safety of operatives during routine maintenance and flood incidents.

The Environment Agency considers that the improvement works are not likely to have significant effects on the environment and does not intend to prepare an environmental statement in respect of them. Environmental screening has been undertaken by the Environment Agency, and will inform environmental management measures for the works. Further details are available from the Environment Agency project manager upon request refer below.

Any person wishing to make representations in relation to the likely environmental effects of the proposed improvement works should do so, in writing, to the address specified below, within 30 days of the date of publication of this notice.
