The Council proposes to make the above Order under Sections 1,2,4,32,33,35, 35A, 35B, 35C and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to introduce Market Trader Permit Holder only parking Providence Row Car Park opposite no.l for 10 bays in a north easterly direction on Saturdays between 6am and 10am. (FRAMWELLGATE WATERSIDE. DURHAM CITY) (TEMPORARY SUSPENSION AND RE-DESIGNATION OF PARKING RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2019
The Council on 4/7/19 made the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to temporarily suspend all vehicular traffic from the use of the pay-and-display and disabled parking bays on Framwellgate Waterside as detailed in the County Council of Durham (Durham City (North West)) (Parking and Restrictions) Order 2012 (as amended). Restrictions extend A) northwards from A690 overbridge for a distance of 230 mtrs; and also B) the parking and no parking restrictions from the northern side of Pennyferry Bridge for a distance of 32 mtrs. Section A will be re-designated as no waiting and no loading at any time. Section B will be re-designated as restricted bay parking places being designated for use by disabled badge holders, time limited to 3 hours with no return within 4 hours. These restrictions are necessary to enable new development works to be undertaken. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence on 15/7/19 and are anticipated to be completed in 1 year.
(A183 CHESTER ROAD. BOURNMOOR) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2019
The Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on 445m of A183 Chester Rd, Bournmoor between its junctions with the Bournmoor Filling Station and Rose Cres to enable new roundabout construction and road surface tie-in works to be undertaken. The closure will be to westbound traffic for the majority of the works. There will be a full road closure to complete resurfacing tie-in works, but these will be agreed with Network Management and signed in advance. An alt route is available to vehicular traffic from the eastern side of the closure from A183 Shiney Row north westerly on A182 Washington Highway then westerly on A195 Western Highway to the Emerson Interchange and turning southerly / westerly to Vigo Ln and southerly on A167 to Northlands roundabout then south easterly on A183 to A1(M) junction 63 Bind Ln Interchange to A183 leading to Bournmoor to the western side of the closure, and vice versa. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence on 29/7/2019 and are anticipated to be completed in 10 weeks.
The Council on 4/7/19 made the following 4 Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1):
(MARY STREET (BACK LANE). ANNFIELD PLAIN) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2019
The effect will be to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on 92 mtrs of Mary St, Annneld Plain to enable gas mains replacement works to be undertaken. Alternative route from the northern point of closure southwards on Thomas St and east on Welsh Tee to southern point of closure, and vice versa. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence from 8am on 15/7/19 and are anticipated to be completed in 2 weeks. Access will be maintained for emergency services.
(B6300 BURNIGHX BANK. MEADOWFIELD) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2019
The effect will be to prohibit all traffic from proceeding on 2.12 km of B6300 between its junctions with A167 and St Johns Rd, Meadowfield to enable bank stabilisation and carriageway reconstruction works to be undertaken. Alternative route for vehicular traffic from the eastern side of the closure from A167 north to Neville's Cross turning south westerly on A690 to Stonebridge Roundabout a) (Traffic under 4.4m high) continuing south westerly on A690 b) (Traffic over 4.4m high) turning westerly onto B6302 then south westerly on B6301 to Tow Law, southerly and easterly on A68 and continuing easterly on B6299 through Stanley Crook then turning easterly on Stockley Ln to Brancepeth then north easterly on A690 to the western side of the closure, and vice versa. Alternative route for pedestrian, equestrian and cycle traffic from B6300 at the eastern side of the closure south onto Sunderland Bridge then westerly on the Bridleway leading to East Parks Farm then northerly on Scripton Lane leading to A690 then north easterly to the junction with B6300, and vice versa. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence on 20/7/19 and are anticipated to be completed in 12 weeks. Access to properties will be accommodated during the works and closure period.
(WYNYARD. CHESTER-LE-STREET) (TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE) ORDER 2019
The effect will be to prohibit all pedestrian traffic from proceeding on 75 mtrs of Wynyard, Chester-le-Street from the rear of 5 Wynyard to 16 Wynyard to enable essential gas mains replacement works to be undertaken. Alternative routes will be available to pedestrian traffic. The maximum duration of the Order is 6 months. The proposed works are to commence on 16/7/19 and are anticipated to be completed in 3 weeks. Access will be maintained for emergency services.
(A690 LEAZES ROAD TO A691 FRAMWELLGATE PETH FOOTWAY-DURHAM CITY) (TEMPORARY FOOTWAY CLOSURE) ORDER 2019
The effect will be to prohibit all pedestrian traffic from proceeding on a 185m length of associated northern footway of A690 Leazes Rd between the access to Millennium PI the A691 Framwellgate Peth pedestrian crossing, Durham City to enable piling works to be undertaken. The alternative route is available to pedestrian traffic from the eastern side of the closure from Leazes Rd easterly to Claypath, south over Claypath/A690 overbridge then westerly onto Walkergate and continuing onto the southern associated footway of A690 Leazes Rd to Millburngate roundabout, crossing Millbumgate pedestrian crossing then north over A690 pedestrian crossing and easterly over Framwelgate Peth pedestrian crossing to the western side of the closure, and vice versa. The maximum duration of the Order is 6 months. The proposed works are to commence on 15/07/2019 and are anticipated to be completed in 6 weeks.
On occasions, alternative dates for each of the above closures may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
