Mary APPLEGARTH

APPLEGARTH Mary (nee Slack). It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mary, formerly of Newton Aycliffe and Darlington and lately of Alcester, Warwickshire, on January 6, aged 84. She will be much missed by her husband Bob, daughters Sarah and Helen, grandchildren Louise and Ben and her wider family and friends. Mary's funeral will take place at St. Nicholas Church, Alcester B49 5AL on Wednesday January 29, at 12.30pm. Family flowers only. Donations to Alcester Dementia Cafe and Alzheimers Society may be left at the service or sent c/o Hemmings & Peace, 67 High Street, Alcester, Warwickshire B49 5AF, tel 01789 766750. Bob and family wish to thank you for your many messages of sympathy and condolence which have been of great comfort at this sad time.

So sad to read of the passing of Mrs Applegarth. She taught me French at Marlow Hall in Newton Aycliffe. Affectionately known as 'Pip', I got to know her in later years, when she watched her girls roller skate, at the club I skated at. A lovely lady. Condolences to you all. (Linda Greaves)
