PLATTS November 2, peacefully in Darlington. Reverend John, aged 82 years. Dearly loved husband of the late Betty, much beloved father of Rachel and Andrew, father-in-law of Paul and grandad of Becca and Ben. Funeral Thursday November 14. Friends please meet for service in Elm Ridge Methodist Church at 1.45pm followed by private cremation. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, may be given at the service for Christian Aid.

Please accept our condolences at this time of grief.
Phoebe met John initially through his wife Betty before we moved to Canada in 1966. We kept in contact with them over the years and visited when we could. What turned out to be their last holiday together included a visit with us in 2010 (photo attached). They will be greatly missed by Rachel and Andrew and their relatives and friends.
