High temperatures with bursts of sunshine are set to continue today despite the promise of intermittent showers as the day goes on.
It is set to be another warm and sunny day in Darlington and across the North East today (May 14) as the Met Office predicts temperatures will reach a high of 18C.
However, the forecaster has predicted some cloud which is set to change to light rain – with a 60% chance of rain expected at 12pm.
Light wind is also forecast throughout the day but will only reach a high of 9mph, with the sun due to set at 9:04pm.
Heading into Wednesday, the forecaster has also stated that “low cloud and mist or fog” will hit the region set to turn in to possible heavy showers on Friday.

The forecaster predicts: “Coastal areas may start dry, however cloud and outbreaks of rain affecting the west edging slowly east, reaching all areas by midday.
“Some heavier bursts at times, particularly over the Pennines, but the rain becoming lighter and more intermittent later. Maximum temperature 15 °C.”
