How Newcastle United's players rated in the 1-1 draw with Brighton:

6 Dubravka: Struggled to get to grips with early set-pieces. Good save to deny Welbeck at 1-0.

6 Livramento: Tough first half, when Brighton appeared to target Newcastle’s right side. More comfortable and effective in second half.

6 Krafth: Couldn’t get to grips with Enciso in first half but more assured in second period.

7 Burn: Difficult first half when he was troubled defensively and missed a good chance. More comfortable after the break.

7 Hall: Another encouraging display. Brighton’s best attacking play came down the other flank.

5 Murphy: Bright start but faded. Livramento needed more protection at times in the first half.

7 Bruno: Positive in possession, all-action. Did all he could to get a grip of game when Brighton were on top.

7 Longstaff: Tireless in the middle alongside Bruno. Crucial goal with the last kick of the first half to draw Newcastle level.

7 Anderson: Beaten at the back post for Brighton’s goal but teed up equaliser. Industrious throughout.

8 Gordon: Newcastle’s best player. Always looked most likely to make something happen. Had big hand in equaliser, had the ball in the net in second half but ruled out for offside, felt he should have had a late penalty.

6 Isak: Quiet afternoon for the striker but it was still a surprise to see him replaced midway through the second half.
