The Health and Safety Executive is making enquiries after a man was seriously injured at a biofuel plant.
First responders rushed to the Greenergy Biofuels Teesside plant on Seal Sands Road in Middlesbrough on Tuesday (May 7) morning just after 9am.
He was taken to hospital at James Cook and an investigation launched by the company.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has now confirmed it is looking into the incident.
A HSE spokesperson said: “We are aware of this incident and are making enquiries.”
Greenergy - a supplier and distributor of fossil and renewable transportation fuels - previously said a “full investigation” was underway.

A firm spokesperson said on Tuesday: "We can confirm an incident took place at our Teesside biofuel plant.
"Ambulance have been in attendance, and someone has been taken to hospital. We are monitoring the situation, and a full investigation is underway."
Cleveland Police, ambulance crews and road air ambulance teams all attended the plant.
