Two people have been arrested on suspicion of intent to deal drugs following patrols in a North East town.

A man, 51, and woman, 43, have been arrested following proactive patrols on Thursday (May 9) in Hardwick, Stockton.

Officers stopped a vehicle before finding a quantity of suspected controlled drugs and cash.

A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: “Officers from Stockton’s Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) arrested two people following proactive patrols in Hardwick.

“During the patrols earlier today (9th May), officers stopped and searched a vehicle and located a quantity of suspected controlled drugs and cash.

“A 51-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A and C drugs, and possession of criminal property.

“A 43-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

“They both remain in police custody at this time.”
