Ugly Betty 'poised to stick around'

12:40pm Friday 5th September 2008

She may be returning to Channel Four in a new season this September, but Michael Urie believes Ugly Betty will be gracing our screens for years to come.

The actor, who play Marc St James in the hit show, said: "Betty will be around for a long long time - I think we could go for a while."

And he revealed his dream story lines involve Betty discarding her signature specs and braces.

He added: "I mean eventually she's going to have to get the braces off, and probably get the laser eye surgery done - but I think it could go on for while."

"It might 'jump the shark' for Betty to have her glasses off!" the US actor continued. "I think Betty should get her braces off and then get smacked in the face and have to have them put right back on again."

Ugly Betty screens on Friday nights on Channel 4.
