Tom Fletcher starts to feel old

McFly star Tom Fletcher has confessed that working with One Direction made him feel old.

The 26-year-old singer-songwriter wrote some of the songs on the X Factor boyband's album Up All Night, and said the band remind him of the young McFly.

Tom said: "They're exactly like we were when we started.

"The first time I was in the studio with them I suddenly felt really old, because they have all this lingo that I don't even know any more, and I'm well past it now.

"But they're exactly like we were and they're really lovely guys and it's really nice to see them, they're really excited about what's coming up and it's nice because I know what they've got ahead of them."

And Tom, who is marrying his longtime girlfriend Giovanna Falcone this summer, laughed knowingly about how much teenagers Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson must be enjoying so much female attention.

He said: "It's amazing. They all love it. I know exactly what they're going through at the moment, and I think they're in for a very good few years"
