PLAYERS from the host club, Blaydon, scored all the points as Durham beat Warwickshire 48-14 in their opening County Championship match.
Blaydon had eight players in the Durham squad, while their former player-coach Tom Rock, now with Otley, went off the bench to play at centre in the second half.
Among the scorers was 19-year-old prop Andrew Foster, who supported a move which began well inside the Durham half.
The other tries came from scrum half Matthew Mellish, No 8 Paul Vinnicombe, winger Fraser Wilson, lock Chris Wearmouth, flanker Rob Bell and replacement full back Gavin Painter. Fly half Andrew Baggett kicked five conversions and a penalty.
Blaydon also supplied six to the Northumberland squad and prop Robbie Kalbraier scored after only three minutes as they built a 34-30 against Lancashire. But they lost 42-34, both sides scoring six tries and the lead changed hands five times.
THE draft fixture list for next season sees promoted Darlington Mowden Park open their National Two North campaign away to Preston Grasshoppers on September 1 before entertaining Westoe the following week.
