Rudd signs new deal with Falcons
NEWCASTLE winger John Rudd has signed a new one-year contract with the Guinness Premiership club.
The 26-year-old's decision to stay at Kingston Park follows the recent departures of England stars Mathew Tait and Toby Flood.
Rudd, who joined the club from Northampton two seasons ago, said: "I have enjoyed my spell at the club so far, and I'm looking forward to extending that time."
Acting director of rugby Steve Bates added: "John provides a big physical presence in our backline with the way he plays the game.
He gives us variety behind the scrum and plenty of go-forward with his direct running style.
He is an excellent professional with a fantastic attitude and it is great news for the club that he will remain with Newcastle Falcons for next season."
