WARREN Fury insists he will be making up for lost time in the J.P, Morgan Asset Management Premiership Rugby 7s Series Finals - but stopped short at introducing drastic changes ahead of leading Newcastle Falcons out.

The Falcons announced themselves back into Premiership action in some style last Friday night at Franklin's Gardens, winning all three of their games against Leicester Tigers, Northampton Saints and Sale Sharks to progress to tonight's Series Finals in Bath.

It is no surprise that Newcastle's fledglings were quick to hit the ground running in the competition as relegation to the Championship cost them the chance to defend their 2011 title.

But while Newcastle were sweeping by all that laid before them in Northampton, Fury was restricted to a watching brief after injury struck.

Now back and fit it is no surprise that the 27-year-old has been catapulted into Newcastle's finals squad, his wealth of experience with Wales 7s seeing him handed the captaincy.

And although admitting his delight at being involved, Fury is not about to try and reinvent the wheel after his peers impressed in the group stages.

"I am really looking forward to the finals," he said. "We are a really close-knit group of boys and we really want to come to the Rec on Friday and get the win.

"I was unfortunate to miss out on Friday night in Northampton as I had a little injury but I can't wait to step out with the boys who did so well to get here. The boys know what they are doing, they are great players. You've got the likes of Tom Catterick, Sean Brown and the young pups so we will keep to the values that we stuck by.

"We will take each game as it comes, only play what is in front of us and have fun and be relaxed because the most important thing is you don't want to let each other down and that is our value and you take care of each other.

"We enjoy ourselves up there in Newcastle with smiles on our faces and it will be a step-up this season playing against teams with all different types of games but we have a squad versatile enough to deal with that."

Another one brought into the squad is Chris York, the back-rower making 13 appearances for Newcastle last season as they escaped the Championship at the first time of asking.

And whatever happens in Bath, York, 23, is adamant the Falcons can soar high on their Premiership return having played under Newcastle director of rugby Dean Richards while at Harlequins.

"I think everyone has confidence ahead of the new season," said York, who spent three seasons at Quins.

"When I was at Qunns I had a taste of Dean Richards and his capabilities and what his ambitions are with the club.

"We haven't had put a number on where we want to finish in the league and we'll just do the best we can see what happens. With pre-season taking its toll we know that we can have a good year and we're excited to get out and start putting teams away."
