NEWCASTLE FALCONS duo Max Davies and Jamie Blamire will both start for England Under-20s tomorrow as they begin their defence of the Junior World Championship title.
Their campaign gets underway against Samoa in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi, with Davies packing down on the blind-side flank and Blamire starting at hooker.
The pair were both part of the England squad that completed a Grand Slam in this year’s Under-20s Six Nations Championship, and both are part of the Falcons’ squad for next season.
England Under-20s head coach Ian Vass said: “We’ve picked a team we believe can do a job against Samoa, bearing in mind it’s a long tournament and everyone is going to have to play at some point.”
England will face familiar faces in their second fixture when they come up against Wales on Sunday. Australia, who were in England’s pool last year, are the opposition for the final pool game on June 8.
